All Welcome!

Education Week will take place from May 7th to the 11th this year. The GEDSB theme for education week this year is Arts for All.  At BDES we have  many special events happening that will be open to the Public. Our events will last from 6pm-8pm on May 8th 2012.

They Include:

Choir performance—The BDES choir will be performing in our  gym at 6:00pm

Marsville—Many of our junior intermediate students have been involved in the Marsville project over the last two months. Students prepared for their adventure by studying space exploration and the planet Mars. In teams, they designed and built life support systems. On Link-up Day (May 8th), they will come together to build a Mars habitat and showcase their survival systems. The Marsville project will be located in our Library.

Open house of classrooms—Many of our classrooms will have work set up for parents to come by and look at.  Most classrooms from Kindergarten to grade 8 will be displaying work from  many different curriculum areas.

Please come on out to our Education Week open house on May 8th you will not be disappointed!

Thanks to Mr. McClery and our 2012 chess team for working hard to represent our school this year. The team has one more tournament in May. BDES wishes all of our chess players luck as they try to capture the chess crown this year.

Thank you to all the students and staff who wore their pink shirts on April 11th. BDES takes pride in stamping out bullying in our school and the number of students that participated in pink shirt day shows our commitment towards anti-bullying. Way to go BDES!
